The part we mean literally

Education and entertainment, not advice
Everything on The Weekly Receipt is general information, written to help you recognize common money habits and think about small next steps. It is not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and using the site does not create an adviser, broker, or fiduciary relationship between us. We are not acting as your financial adviser, and no content here is tailored to your individual circumstances.
Your money animal is a framework, not a diagnosis
The quiz is a behavioral framework we designed to be recognizable and useful. It is a v1 framework, not a validated psychometric or clinical instrument, it has not been peer-reviewed, and it cannot see your actual circumstances. Your result names a pattern in a habit — it is not a professional assessment, and nobody is only one animal.
We don’t know your situation
We don’t know your income, your debts, your dependants, your health, your country, or your tax code — all of which change what a good decision looks like. Before acting on anything you read here, consider speaking with a qualified professional who can see those things and is licensed to advise you.
No promises about outcomes
We don’t claim that a habit change will produce any particular financial result, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Financial decisions carry risk, and what happens depends on your circumstances and choices. Where we cite a figure, we say where it came from; where we can’t source one, we say so rather than inventing it.
Partner links, if and when they exist
Today there are none. If we ever earn a commission from a link, it will be labeled clearly, right where the link is, not buried on a page like this one. Being paid will never decide what we point you toward.
If things are genuinely hard right now
The roast is for habits, never for hardship. Debt or hardship that came from a crisis is never roast material. If you’re in real financial distress — debt you can’t service, a shortfall you can’t close — a quiz is not what you need. Please speak to a qualified, non-profit debt adviser or a financial professional in your country.
